This is the original source from the manhwa, Trapped in the Academy's Eroge, so if you're coming off of that (which I was), I would recommend reading the novel from the start since a couple of the events were swapped around along with a short story arc that wasn't adapted: Spoiler
island survival arc
[collapse], and additional s*x scenes with the heroines. You can read it at PandaMTL (Possessed with the Academy Game) which is surprisingly like 80-90% comprehensible if you don't want to wait for the actual translations.Overall, a solid and enjoyable read albeit a predictable and very generic storyline with 1-dimensional villains. If you just want to lay back and read a smut fantasy academy harem novel with a decent 'plot' going on, then this is a good pick up. I think its strongest points are its characters especially the heroines and their smut scenes with the MC. If you're curious about the harem count by the end of the novel, it's 11 girls: SpoilerLucy & Rumi (twins), Nam Gaeun (swordswoman), Liliana (succubus), Scarlett (former assassin), Rebecca (former villain that only cares about reviving her clan), Moon Surin (school president), Im Sol (professor & strongest magician before MC), Baek Ahyoung (nurse/healer), Alice & Irene (sisters from a very influential guild)
[collapse]The interesting thing about the heroines is the fact that some of them aren't even from the original game that the MC played, so there's some added 'challenges' and surprises that the MC goes through in order to receive rewards from the system and have a higher chance of reaching the ending. At first, the MC treated the world as a 'game' but with the more interactions he has with his harem, the more we see his feelings becoming more genuine and the responsibilities weighing on him. Each girls have their own unique personalities with some girls having their own development throughout the novel AND with their own s*xual preferences/kinks. For example, Baek Ahyoung is very much into r*pe play, and the MC knows that so he doesn't hesitate and plays along with it. Also, the MC is pretty likable as he not only cares about the heroines and ensures that they have a good time, but he knows trying to create a harem while leaving some girls in the dark to progress the plot is a douchebag-y move, so he eventually tries to create scenarios to ease that in and have the girls understand his relationships with other women. On the last note, the magic system in this novel isn't anything special but it's simple and convenient for the MC. The MC is described as a genius so he doesn't face any roadblocks on his path with magic, so I could hardly say that the Weak to Strong aspect is satisfying, but the development of his own unique spells, some of the action scenes against the villains, and Spoilerthe integration of hell into the story with the mysteries behind Liliana's past
[collapse] is entertaining to say the least.
