"Showing your incompetent superiors who's the real boss."

-> This is the niche/fetish that this book aims at. If you resonate with the idea even a little bit, I think you can enjoy this novel.

Our protagonist is a reincarnated being (not from our world, but 150 years later) who is a soldier/hero/military-man par excellence, who is given a low post in a frontier region cause he is a commoner and the Empire is a nobility only club. However, our protagonist is more than adequately prepared, and the frontier is a playground for him to prove his worth, rise through the ranks and devour it all.

The pace is fast, though there are multiple chapters (repeatedly) in which he shows nobles their place. That's how the novel goes - describe the situation, the protagonist has a plan, action occurs, and incompetent superiors are shown their place. The writing is typical Japanese WN style - relatively sparse and clean, and supporting characters have one/two traits that they repeat every so often.

About worldbuilding - there's only as much information as is required to carry the story forward. Nothing too illogical, but nothing innovative to praise either.
