To read this, you have to suspend disbelief. Yet even with the simplistic world view, the tragic fate of MC and sinister plots behind it evoked some deep ugly emotions. I tried to condense this into a rational review, but this eventually became a record of my thoughts as I read really absurd or insidious plot points.World setting: Weak emperor vs strong nobles, dissolute wealthy nobles vs suffering taxed commoners, noble civil servants vs downtrodden soldiers who protect them. The premise itself is problematic. Regardless of how precarious the imperial power is or how important MC is, it truly can't be that easy to break off an imperial engagement. For such a scheming royal family, they left so many loopholes for MC to exploit.I hold great disdain for the Fu family and all noble families. Everyone knew that the imperial engagement was a conspiracy targeting MC's wealth. Yet somehow, they are shocked that MC didn't live well and wasn't educated in the palace. What future crown princess would be isolated from the nobility she would govern?
- It was so absurd that the Fu family had 2 officials in court but Spoiler
they let a short-sighted old woman destroy an entire clan.
[collapse] They got so complacent that they forgot they needed MC to retain their glory.
- Spoiler
In childhood, Crown prince was wilfully negligent as the emperor was. Even after the crown prince recovered his past memories, he chose to remain ignorant to his mum's evil. Even after it was exposed, he was unwilling to punish her despite his "regret". Bile rose up my throat.
[collapse] - Everytime I thought to pity Fu Ze'an, I immediately remembered that he never repented in past life until he was forced to face his wrongs in this life. Just wilfully ignorant and delusional.
- Frankly speaking, the author is great at dishing out punishment suitable for each person.

[collapse] in Malicious Empress of Military Lineage. You understand the revenge but it's still a deeply dark act.The internal atrocities committed by the officials are honestly much worse than those committed by the enemies.- Spoiler
The true horror of all wars is being abandoned by your own people not enemies. E.g. Soldiers raping their own people, enslaving refugees
