I was attracted to this novel due to its blurb, while I can say that it did not stray from the premise timeline (in fact it hardly changed 'till the end), I feel that it was not enough. Gravity I guess? (and the changes from the blurb in terms of how they actually marry in the succeeding lives) Anyway, I want to sing praises for the peculiarity of these protagonists, having the urge to shake people's shoulders. I felt so emotional witnessing how their relationship grew. Except Life1 where the two got married due to the imperial decree, their relationship was never forced, there was no coercion or any type of drugs needed for them to decide to be together. That's what makes it fantastic. Normally you would feel awkward but the author skillfully put together the plot and at the same time, the protagonists' dynamics. They retained the ruthlessness, cunning and pettiness of the characters while balancing it with the right portion of sweetness. The naturalness of how their personality was integrated to the start as well as every parting- that's what makes it beautiful as well as heart-wrenching. Don't get me wrong, it was not that heavy. In fact, there's a large comedic tone especially when they are together. I want to say it's fluffy but it would undermine the genius of the appeal of the story.
Before I forgot, remember this: morally ambiguous.
There's no hesitation or inner struggle of trying to stay good when tackling the matter about their transgressors. They are very straight-forward: do no wrong towards us, we'll leave you alone.

[Male Lead] would rather would just lie around like a salted fish but fate want him to move. He's pretty competitive, the other motivation to do something he does not want to do is that he hates losing to another. Hm, he's a good guy- shy, charismatic, and bold.
Independent main character. Career-focused. Lin Qinyu is a person of his own right, he's pretty capable and would not always indulge his husband. He is strong and principled (his own). Lin Qinyu possess a clear goal in mind and would not hesitate to do anything to achieve it. Personally, I love how he slowly unraveled his facade in front of [male lead]. It was what made me truly feel satisfied throughout the whole novel it was also the one that made it hurt more.
They do feel jealousy but no drastic actions! :> What makes it funnier is that it's not people that they feel most jealous of. For Lin Qinyuan, it's the [male lead's] love for sleeping while for [male lead], it's their children he feels jealous of, the gu worms. RIP eldest daughter. (NOT MPREG, it's a wormmy)
