Very very slow burn in all aspectsi liked the synopsis and i’m happy I bypassed the bad comments, even if it’s also different from what I expected. I picked it up thinking that even if it was average, it would be nice to fall asleep, but there’s actually a few plot points that are too entertaining to makes it a proper sleeping read (obviously a good point) i appreciate the fact that the MC is slow to play the game (or more like he barely plays along). It feels more like a real person instead of a game player, which is more logical :life is not a game. I appreciate that instead of building up strategies or jumping to kiss or throw love words when ordered to, he will fai and stay himself, making him a rather convincing character. He feels awkward, embarrassed and doesn’t want to manipulate others feeling. He also feels burdened by the growing feelings of his teammates, and only slowly grows to learn and appreciate them at a plausible pace. It ow, but at least, it makes sense.i have seen reviews that define him as 2 D, I don’t know about that : there are a lot of introspective moments as he is someone who had years of painful life experience at the bottom of the social ladder. I also appreciate his slow realization of his new status. Most often you have a complete change of personality from people being sent too their pas, and this is painfully s*upid. Death or trauma don’t give special knowledge about how to become manipulated or business savvy, etc.a guy with a painful past can only heal slowly... That being said, it’s also true that he’s following the path of the game, or that he follows the rules of the hunters, without trying much out to have a grasp at the situation. Then again, you could say his paradigm is indeed overwhelming and there might be little he can do. His personality is also rather cautiousall of this contributes to a slow paced story. The plot behind the very strange dating sim is rather interesting, and left me curious for more
