I usually really like these types of novels, but this one was just honestly very boring and slow to me. The situations where the MC shows off his smarts and solves a big dilemma were honestly not that impressive and so I didn’t get any satisfaction from it because it just kind of seemed... dumb? The problems themselves were boring and so were the solutions, so any “progress” the MC made, I just didn’t care :/ The writing was very okay, some parts the author brushed over with just a sentence or two when I feel like they should have expanded more about the scene and that also contributed to why this story just wasn’t engaging to me. I think there are way better novels with similar tropes to this to read so I won’t be continuing.
