I think I wanted to like it more than I actually did. I read this because it’s a sequel to secretly, secretly (one of my all time favorite) and it was a let down compared to that read. The guy is a bit too desperate and the girl has lots of trauma. It makes sense why she would need time to recover but the guy secretly watching her for years was not as romantic to me as maybe others think. I’d rather they met again after years of separation on both ends or the they met other people. They work together but only because the guy is willing to literally beg the girl to be with him, I felt. Overall it felt very bittersweet, with more bitter for me.
