A charming slice-of-life about a small restaurant owner in fictional timeline similar to ancient China. The MC is a calm, knowledgeable, and independent woman who could stand on her own in various circumstances.

There were two main keywords: slice-of-life & restaurant. Most of its narrative so far involved Chinese cuisines, both common and uncommon ones. It might be boring for some, but I enjoyed it immensely.

Meanwhile, there were bits of mystery and romantic foreshadows. MC had gloomy past. Love interest candidate had similarly murky baggages. Scattered hints were few and far between, but they hook us up for the next chapters.

I would suggest this novel for fans of mature MC, foodie stories, and slice-of-life novels. Particularly those who would like to read about middle class people's lives in ancient China.

Also, the translation was superb. I particularly loved the footnotes where translator attached all the food photos and videos. Please keep it up!
