Relaxing, quiet, and peaceful, and occasionally very amusing! This is not a novel to read on an empty stomach :) The translator puts in a lot of effort with including footnotes to explain the meaning behind the numerous references included in the original text. Without it, a lot of the subtext would be lost in translation. Really appreciate the extra work put in to the translation, and I look forward to reading the rest of the novel!
