the romcom element is "okay" level. the first arc is quite entertaining to read.but when Mary arc came in, everything become much havier to follow. the problem that follows around Ryuzaki's harem turned from mundane, to much psychological.we indeed showed how Kotaro would solve the problem and countered every scheme. but in turn we are showed how big the gap of interpersonal skill and intelligence in Kotaro's persona. and it's quite weird seeing how Kotaro become like that with his average intelligence he showed at the first arc (he's more emotional driven guy).as for character :Shimotsuki : I see her as a sweet girl at first. but the yandere factor a little bit ruined her personality (it might be due to my own opinion) she's a talk active, or for me she's like super duper naggy girl (her family too) it's sadly shown in her interaction with Kotaro.Kotaro : a self proclaimed "mob" in time he's a secret interpersonal psychological genius (lol) but he could turned into a lump of stone that always do alot of inner monologues when facing Shimotsuki (and her families) which is soo weird.storywise, in some parts it's an ordinary school life, but in the other chapter it's full of deeper and havier problem (trick and scheme) that for me, it's such unnecessary thing to escalate problem to those degree. in turn Shimotsuki thrown out of the picture, and back as a little comic relief. The romance, i can't say it's sugary. it's just a romance who seems sugary from the outside, but in fact it's cringeworthy due to the extremity of Shimotsuki yandere personae and "the peeble on the roadside" personality of Kotaro which make "depiction" of this couple is quite hard to imagine. the interaction are one sided, which lacks of strawberry atmosphere.... in short... it's so weird.truly a series with a weird couple.
