!Only read this if you are some type of masochist. It is that type of novel that had a lot of potential, but the execution is straight up painful to read.Good things:
- A bit of a nostalgia wave
- Has some, though extremely rare, good moments
- Dialogue has god shinobi levels of cringe.
- Nobody relevant ever dies, if author needs to kill someone he just pops out some random characters.
- I will stress this again, nobody ever dies. Everybody escapes like a c*ckroach. This feels like those moments where you are just about to sneeze but for some reason it just goes away and you never receive the pleasure from actually doing so, and then you are just left there frustrated.
- Uchihas awakening mangekyos like it is nothing.
- Character has one conversation with MC -> suddenly would kill and torture his whole family and die for the MC.
- Random woman introduced in the beginning that we are supposed to believe that the MC really cares about and loves because... reasons! Oh, and how beautiful this romance is! This girl also happens to love MC with all her heart and would do everything for him, because... wait for it! Reasons!
- MC conveniently supremely dumb when the author needs to milk out more chapters.
I mean, like, come on! How could he have not destroyed the body of Yomi?? From this moment on I noticed the story going down hill.
[collapse]- "Learning" from his arrogance every few chapters -> goes on and commits the same mistake again -> "learns" from his arrogance again -> commits same mistake again -> ad nauseam
- Interrupts the conversation of the big figures like he is some sort of big shot -> doesn't even register to the author that a random person interrupting a conversation between Kages shows a tremendous lack of respect and would have had consequences.
There is also that random Hyuga traitor or whatever. He does something bad, and then MC: "Oh yeah, I need to catch him", proceeds to never be mentioned again until he again screws up something and so MC goes "OMG, I need to catch him, like, ASAP" -> completely forgets about it.
I have not actually read that far but it seems to me that the author is trying to use this random guy as a tool to justify Hyuga Kuroto being able to free himself from the Bird Cage seal to be able to become Hokage. I could be wrong though! This is just a bit of speculation.
[collapse]Anyways, I do not recommend the reading of this novel. If you do read it and dislike it please make sure to make a review as well so that future wanderers do not fall into this pit. Go read something better, like Konoha Hypocrite.
