Black Lotus raised me well, I knew I could read this and honestly? This one is much better.The emotions really went up and down in this one. One moment you're angry, next thing you know you're crying. If anything every time there are sweet moments in this book you'll have to expect that the following chapters will give you a headache and a heartache.So I'll rate the likability of this book based on my own opinion:The Plot - 💮💮💮 It is quite well-written actually. Bittersweet ending. Not HE not BE either.Translation 💮💮 Very thankful to all the translators but it was excruciating to read the latter parts. Very similar to MTL and I think I missed some of the flow in the plot. Either way it is still a tolerable read.ML - 💮 I honestly would've loved to see him grovel more but I get it, he's made to be shitty. He was actually so sweet though after everything settled down. But his mistakes shouldn't have been easily forgiven.MC - 💮💮 While he's pitiful, he's also selfless to the point that he can be labeled s*upid. I really loved him when he entered showbiz. I wish that character development lasted. Well, it didn't.Duan Lin - 💮💮💮💮 Out of all the characters in this book, I liked him the most. He was the realest out of them all.White Lotus Sweetheart - and why would I rate him? Scum. I don't care how tragic your past is.Xiao Chi - I still don't get his purpose ?????Overall rating - 3.5 ⭐Lastly, take it with a grain of salt. Everybody can't stomach ab*se beyond human comprehension. I read because I want to know how they will end up together. But that's just me. I've read worst. So this book is not too bad, but not good either. I'll be reading a feel good novel after this lest I fester with negative emotions. ಥ_ಥ
