I'm rating this 5 because, despite its weaknesses and tropes and everything, I still really enjoy reading it to find out what his crazy don't-give-a-sh*t future self did this time and how it chains into events that would have lead to the apocalypse.

There's attraction, action, obsessive love, his hatchet, power struggles, drama, nobility, regret, angst, demons, explosions, MC actually has a male friend, near death experiences, catfights, a plot twist or two; it has a lot. At its core, the plot is an action + character interactions story about a man being strung along by a trail of breadcrumbs left by a future him.

See, MC periodically wakes up to a love letter reminiscing about things that haven't happened yet, each time from a different woman, with a vague clue scribbled on it and several days worth of memories unaccounted for. He invariably finds out that in that blank time his burned-out future self has done something to someone, so MC has to follow the trail of ominous stares, rumors and tears to figure out what was done this time. That in turn leads him on the path to finding another chess piece that cults or demons or whatnot had been preparing that would have snowballed into something worse later.

It has its weaknesses. The women all love him despite his kinda flat personality and lack of functional social interaction. There's pretty much a checklist of female body types and personalities. MC behaves in a fairly traumatic and abusive way towards most characters (his hatchet causes immediate fear reflexes on sight). Things always go just how they need to so he can continue without crippling injuries or actually dying. Etc. Still a fun ride, imo. The fact it could refer to something as "The Rinella Barking Incident" made me laugh more than it should.

TL quality is great, very few errors I noticed.
