Okay, right off the bat one of the hardest things to withstand in this novel is the action scenes. If you don't know a single thing about martial arts or swordplay, please don't write excruciatingly long flight scenes. Even if the author took a couple of boxing classes it would reduce how utterly senseless the fights are.The main character isn't particularly likable. He is too s*upid and too prone to violence.I managed to gloss over that because the premise of the story and the world seemed promising. The thing that broke me is women being written by a man *badly*. The depictions of women are deeply sexist.It's just not a good read.
