I really wanted to like this one... the premise is intriguing and I'm a big fan of growth arcs... but this was just too much. The story is repetitive, to the point where it will spend multiple paragraphs of a chapter literally walking you through a recap of the previous chapter. Following that, a chapter later, it will remind you of the previous 2 chapters. It gets to the point that during the non-action scenes, I skip entire sections just to get to a part where something new is happening. It's giving me Naruto PTSD.As far as the restrictions go, I liked the premise of "seeing" via an ability to compensate for a lack of senses... but the MC is just TOO pitiable. It feels like the author made him mute just so that everyone would continue to remember his disability given that his spacial perception even allows him to read. This coupled with the fact that he doesn't wear sunglasses or cover his eyes, he just walks around with his eyes closed noticing the strange stares everyone is giving him... I just can't empathize with someone actively fishing for pity. It's one thing for a character to be broken but push through, but it just feels like no matter how strong he gets he just gives off the feeling that he'll crumble at the slightest pressure.Overall, it checked enough of my boxes that I held out through the slow start, but if he hasn't become tolerable by chapter 60 it's just not worth it for me to hold on any longer.
