As the other reviewer said, don't expect a chaste fluffy romance from this, lol. This novel is very sexually charged from the start. It's not exactly smut but the author is not at all squeamish about showing the characters attraction to each other on every level.The story itself is honestly quite straightforward so far, there's not a lot of time spent on side characters, subplots or the ins and outs of the entertainment industry. The two female leads are 100% the focus, so let's talk about them a little.Shen Qiaoyu's public reputation is that of a low tier villainess, basically. She gives off that "cold but beautiful" impression. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the reality of Shen Qiaoyu's character. She's strong, honest to a fault, hot-headed and hopelessly dense in some regards. She's also very, very pure in some ways. She falls in love fast and hard and immediately all she wants to do is brag about her girlfriend, she's the type that will do anything her girlfriend tells her to.Yan Shiqing has the image of the flawless white lotus. Regardless of how many love scandals she has, or how much trouble she causes, she always seems to rise up with her reputation unscathed and universally beloved. In reality, Yan Shiqing is, to put it bluntly, a bit pe*verted, obsessive and manipulative. It's all very much played for comedy value and her little manipulations serves as the driving force of much of the plot. Anyone who is not a fan of this type of character might want to steer clear of this story because you can't really avoid it, this is very much who she is.If Yan Shiqing's personality is not a hurdle for you, the story overall is pretty lighthearted and funny. It doesn't take itself too seriously and there are as many absurd moments as there are steamy moments.
