The relationship in this is ok. It shows the negative prejudices of the MC original fiance and how those change but it is too late for him to regain the MC's affection. I wasnt upset about this because they didnt even really have a relationship but near the end of the book Spoiler

the omega father of Gu who had lived his life trying to be perfect in the eyes of his partner decides to stop being used by his alpha partner and get a divorce. The alpha partner hadnt harmed the omega but had ignored him most of the marriage and never thanked him. I understand wanting to leave but at the same time the omega just suddenly wanted to divorce and didnt give the alpha any chance to change anything even though he had never complained before in 26 years. I feel if the omega was more resolute in saying his feelings earlier, changes could be made and he could realize actually he was appreciated (examples- the alpha only eats his wifes cooking and if its not his wifes cooking he wont eat it and just drinks nutrient solution- he comes home everyday to eat dinner with the family just for this but he has never praised his wife or let his wife know he only eats his cooking- other people that know him realize this and tell the wife but she doesnt believe them. She thinks the alpha feels its his duty to eat his cookingeven if he doesnt like it and prefers to drink nutrient solution which is more efficient. Another example is the alpha told the omega to stop wearing red clothing and lace and doesnt come home much except for dinner but the reason is because he thinks his wife is too beautiful in red and he is too lustful when around his wife and cant control himself like he wants to so he stays away from her. Its very convoluted. The alpha husband is also autistic (i dont mean to offend anyone but the husbands character is one that doesnt express any emotion and also is unable to sense the emotion of others unless its something obvious like crying or yelling).) Basically if he praised the wife came home more and let the wife feel she was more free it could have been fixed. I feel like its too sudden and cruel to end a relationship like this without trying to rectify anything first. As a person who has been married and divorced before I feel its too irresponsible. The author instead tries to used the regret of both the Gu father as son as a stepping stone for the omegas. In the end they are not bad people and they are able to change thier ways but they still dont get a good ending. Its quite sad.
