This novel is truly something special, I admit I had my doubts looking at the generic and uninteresting description, but right from the get go, the characters feel refreshing, Rufus and Sarubia are more than meets the eye, and they behave like real human beings instead of copy and paste inserts you would expect from a hero and a saintess/maid. The premise is also very captivating, without getting into any spoilers, it manages to turn romance into the main plotline successfully which caught me off guard. The author's writing is borderline basic and the setting and environment of the story isn't explored as much, yet his amazing skill in making a story interesting makes his flaws completely obsolete. I like when characters are able to think for themselves, they lie, put on fronts, restrain themselves from making rash decisions, and express a range of emotions other than I hate you or I love you. This is what you want from a novel, not 500 filler chapters of cultivation or the 1500th isekai.
