The MC gives me second-hand embarrassment and I really think it would have been better if he was a girl.

The arcs are not that interesting and there's no feeling of horror or tension because the ML always comes in and saves the day. The MC always somehow gets the most clues and solves the mystery despite there being several veterans in every game. The MC is also not particularly clever or observant. He is too much of a Gary Stu for my liking.
