Professional Villain [Quick Travel] Chapter Completed Discussion

This novel wasn't what I was expecting but I did thoroughly enjoy it.

Agreed with the others that this may not be the book for people who disliked angst, cold and ruthless MC, and bittersweet moments. At the same time though, it is because the MC is cold, ruthless, and apathetic that the later moments become infinitely sweeter and his development feels gratifying.

There is also the underlying mystery with the (MC's) world's background. The last arc wrapped it up but ngl, most of the info was from the 6th arc so it didn't leave as much of an impression. It served mostly as a plot device and did well on connecting the arcs and explaining why the setting is as is (ML, MC, the transmigration, etc etc).

Ok so about the arcs

Arc 1 - Pei Qing and Pei Mingshu x crippled victim (Modern, business)

This felt just like your usual QT story. You will feel bad about the MLs. Or at least I did. It's pretty dogblooded and just like what the title promised, the MC was a villain through and through. At the end of this arc, MC felt baffled about emotions since he played around with the MLs yet they still loved him.

Arc 2 - He Xuan x exiled strategist (Ancient)

I love Arc 2. It was great! Due to the bafflement from Arc 1, MC wasn't actually straight-on opposing ML. It's not like MC wanted to be a villain exactly; his personality is just suited for it. He wants to dominate and feels happy to be at the top. At this arc, he was starting to feel.... something (oh no, are they emotions? No way, natural persons don't have them). When he wanted to avoid suspicion of being an exiled criminal, he made use of 2 people he got to know at the start of the arc. MC noted he should have had them killed but didn't. He finally decided not to kill them because that would mean he has something to prove and was affected which he isn't. ML here was a sweetie who is earnest.

Arc 3 - Scarred ugly prince x blind priest (Western)

Mtl named the ML landes or randes, tho MC remained consistently eugene. In here, MC gained pleasure from interacting with the ML and toying around with him. ML here was so... not tragic exactly. But he's aware he has fallen in love with a devil who wouldn't reciprocate when MC just thinks in clear cut deals and exchanges but ML truly loves him. I admit I had difficulty reading this arc. But this did help set up the fourth arc.

Arc 4 - Li Xiu x gloomy impoverished student (modern, school)

For me, despite being one of the sweetest arcs out there, I think it's the most bittersweet. There were onion ninjas lurking around : (. MC lost his memories so he lost his standard of how he should act. When he fell in love with ML (acknowledged in his inner thought), he even found it strange he ever thought being in love was for the weak. In this arc, he truly wasn't much of a villain. There were lots of soft moments for both MC and ML here. If ur tear ducts are the leaky kind, do prepare some tissues.

Arc 5 - Ye Chi x midlane legend (modern, esports)

The cast here is vibrant and varied. I love them 😭. The shenanigans going around?? ML sneaking to MCs team base?? ML being a fan of MC and his friends teasing him for it? Friendship reqs and private 1v1s (not the yellow kind most of the time, until ML boldly initiated some things anyway). The internet shipping real life people? So good. I enjoyed them all.

Arc 6 - Tianshu x madman Commander

Its the final arc so the truth is finally being revealed. In terms of my enjoyment, I think Arc 6 pales in comparison to the others. Tbf, this was mostly shedding light on wassup. This did set up the wrap-up of our MC Mo Yin and ML Tianshu. This facilitated the extras of each of the arcs which further enriched their relationship. The ending of Arc 3 and 4 were tear jerking for ML and MC. Wasn't expecting to feel bad for our strong MC but welp. Here I am.

ending - after ML got thru his psychological shadow, MC asks ML if he wants to accompany him to dominate the higher dimension. and tada.

I actually want to read the individual arcs fleshed out as a stand alone story. but for now I prly need something humorous to get over finishing the novel : (.

by the way, tho there are no major side chars, there are side chars in some arcs that were memorable. shout out to li yuan, ding mohai, tang qi, bill etc etc.

if u dont mind a cold MC and can get thru an angsty first arc, read this for a satisfying character development! (Or more accurately, emotional development)
