It's an interesting story about an OP defense. It does feel like this whole story is a metaphor of a person's life as a office worker. Given the boot when deemed unnecessary, gets a new job, gets treated badly by his boss, boss who hates him tries to force him to quit, office politics, coworkers who don't want to work, big bosses who look down on your placement in the company
