the FL a decided to return to the capital after attempting to travel to datong after her uncle talked to her. I find it kind of s*upid that she decided to travel to datong once she talked to her uncle and then when she was trapped by his soldiers, she immediately realized it was basically pointless for her to travel to datong. Why is she so easily convinced and if not for ML she would’ve just died in the village or if she managed to escape, she would’ve died from the fever.
It’s kind of irritating that she’s set up as an intelligent character but it’s pretty obvious that she can’t do anything without the ML being involved in helping her.
Like when she returned to the 2nd uncle’s home because she felt that she would be able to protect herself by finding evidence of the uncle’s wrongdoing towards her. If the ML didn’t step in to help her find Chen Li (if I’m not wrong) and then step in again to force the confessions, her plan wouldn’t have worked out.
Must as well just make her a straight up damsel in distress rather than making her smart-ish and useless at the same time.
[collapse]Skipped to chapter 45 and read to chapter 50. Still found it kind of boring and couldn’t be bothered to check out the ending. Don’t really understand what it is about the book that’s so disinteresting to me but I just find the story boring.
