Light spoilers, but I don't plan on saying much about plot elements. It's slow. Far too slow. Why is the MC five years old 157 chapters in. He goes through 3 years in less than ten, so why can't he at least of progressed to the age of a young teen. I understand that there are slice of life elements but there's a difference between slice of life and poor pacing. The genre is not a catch all for slow storytelling.I care about the age of the MC because the story wants to seed his harem and even if there's no 'real' romance yet it feels weird. It also relies upon the reincarnation of the MC to allow the story to function. The reincarnation is what makes him a genius... no, this gets its own paragraph. The reincarnation is what makes him a 'genius' or at least that's the opinion of the MC. It rightly affects nearly all of his interactions with people, but in the most generic way possible. Because he's five and acting like a weird mix of a ten year old and an adult, he becomes a genius. I simply find it dull. I think it lessens his character. And ultimately, I think the reincarnation becomes a crutch that allows him to be five. It is the only thing that allows for enough drama when he is that age.I'd like to mention how it could negatively impact the story, but that would most definitely exceed the scope of the review I have. Frankly even what I've written somewhat exceeds the scope and enters the territory of a rant. The issue is that I liked it. But it's wasting time. Even more generally, it's killing or ignoring most if not all ways to introduce conflict and drama. The ways to make a story. The story's too happy if that makes sense. There's nothing to truly contrast the positive scenes to make them shine. It's not about darkness, it's about elevating the light. That, combined with the extremely slow pacing, leads the entire story to blurring into one. It's not a slice of life, it is the life of the character. And it's an illusion, a facade, a dream. The life portrayed is an unrealistic fantasy; the heaven that I hope does not exist. It is so dreamy that not only does it float away, it leaves no room for personality or imagination. It only offers a glimpse of a certain dream.
