Silent Confession Chapter Completed Discussion

My impression of this story.

It had the potential to be a nice afternoon's dish of dog's blood and redemption.

It ended up being a mess of snot, tears and confusion. The plot was Swiss cheesed to accommodate long tiresome sessions of wailing by the MC. I can understand being upset and heartbroken, but the author went overboard in showing the MC sobbing every other chapter. He should buy shares in a tissue factory.

Then there are so many pieces of the story that only make sense half way through a scene. (Ex: finding out what the ML's current job is, that the MC bought their house, that he might be a law major at uni?) There are also pieces that never make sense. Like the MC's parents. (Why are there three of them?! I think they are wealthy? Is one of them actually related to MC?) It just never ends. And some of those pieces are important as to why there was a divorce decree, the premise of the story.

What really bugged me though, was that in this type of story, other than resolving the misunderstandings, one of the things I tend to look for is some character growth. The ML does show some. He becomes less wary and angry. He begins to learn to communicate.

However the MC does not. I know he's supposed to be chatty and a ray of sunshine (when he's not crying) and that's okay when he's 17 and not married, but people GROW. Especially when they are faced with a crisis like he was and make it through that crisis. But he still behaves like a little child. In fact more of a child than when he was pursuing the ML in the beginning.

This becomes disturbing because everyone around him, including his husband, also treat him like a child. He's even frequently referred to as a kid. (Also by the ML) If his family and the ML feel it's okay for him go to college, live independently, buy houses, and get married that doesn't work. It gives the story, especially after the NSFW chapter, a loli-con feel.

(Tbh, until the sexy chapter, I was wondering if they had even progressed beyond kissing and cuddling after getting married as it was starting to feel like two pre-teens shyly sharing a bed).

There are much better stories with the same premise out there. Try them instead.
