Meeting Mr. Fu Chapter 1597 Discussion

The romantic relationships (and lots of misunderstandings) between different characters are what drives the whole plot.

Almost every character introduced will have his/her own love line. It's enjoyable and quite suited for binge reading. I don't think the conversations are shallow at least for the first half of the story. However, almost every major character has a flaw of omitting details when talking which causes misunderstandings. It's fine if it's for one character only and if it happens rarely, but it's often the case here.

You can compress this whole novel into 500 chapters if the characters just explained with full details instead of being so unnecessarily stingy with their words. There are moments in the story when I cried because the whole situation is so messed up - kudos to the author though because the conflict managed to evoke emotions. The main thing I dislike in the story is the author does not create likeable female characters. There were a lot of female characters introduced as the story progressed and they are all either s*upid or morally questionable. After 1597 chapters, I only liked MC and one female friend. Even the MC herself only started being likeable after 850+ chapters and the likeable female friend was only introduced in maybe 1200+ chapters. As for the reason why I dropped this, it's because of a pet peeve of mine. Spoiler

At 1500+ chapters, MC will give birth to twin sons. This is their 2nd and 3rd sons. ML has been looking forward to a daughter for a long time. So he's so disappointed with having 3 sons. My pet peeve is the ML treats his sons as enemies, especially his eldest son. The eldest son is so young. The story only tells his journey from 1 to 3 years old. ML always shows his blatant dislike for his son for getting his wife's attention. It's not comical, not amusing and not funny at all. A child will always need his parents' attention, but ML here acts like a villain. He is so heartless in dealing with his child.
