It was a cliché but good read, until they suddenly pushed MC into the entertainment industry.

That could have worked if it would have happened because MC actually wanted it, but how it was done is just... not logical.

There are so many elements mixed together, the novel doesn't seem to know what it wanted to be and just tried everything at once.

Many plot points are made overly complicated for no logical reason, they have easy, straightforward solutions but the writer ignored them all and went for whatever she wanted to write about.

The whole story is very artificial, lots of characters that are just plot devices and don't exist when MC isn't there, certain plot points are dragged out way too far, foreshadowing is so in-your-face that there aren't any surprises.

Characterisation overall is very shallow, from MC to side-characters, ML still isn't really in the picture, therefore the romance hasn't started yet, either.

Supernatural powers, evil spirits, evil items, ghosts, ancient beings, yao, livestreaming, MC becomes an idol, long battles with monsters, tons of viewer comments that add nothing, some family drama, crime solving...

I don't know what this novel is supposed to be but it completely lost me now.

Maybe I'm not open-minded enough, I like novels to be stable and consistent, that they have a clear identity instead of being a hot pot.

If you like mellow supernatural stories, don't want anything complicated, and don't mind a somewhat strange combination of topics/tropes, then it's still a good pick.
