It's a fun novel to read.

However, the only interesting thing here is the MC.

While other aspects of the story are well built and there's no bad points, the whole progression is not original, I came across similar tropes and the author didn't make much different.

The author took interesting parts from popular tropes and then merged them seamlessly, that's good, however, the author couldn't make a story that makes you think "wow", it's just enough as an entertaining read.

If you want to read a laid back rude MC that doesn't give a f*ck about anyone, and who has a bit of flawed personality (lunatic) and is somewhat racist to mages (if it can be called that), then this story is nice.

However, you won't get the deep world building and epic story telling with a deep lore or character growth.
