I don't really know what to write anymore, now that I finished reading it.

Anyways, although I have read a review telling about how the setting didn't happened during teenage years that I expected to happen, it wasn't so bad after all.

It was not really the kind of teenage puppy love type of romance but rather college-like, you know, it's kind of hard to put into words but it's like still being a student yet at the same time involved in adulting part in society type of romance. Something like that. The ML isn't as overbearing and cold type actually, it was pretty accurate for him to be called abstinent. He's mysterious, which actually, thinking about it rn the story coincides with MC's view all throughout. ML's pretty mysterious and actually not quite prominent at the beginning of the story, unless it was about their feud, he wouldn't be mentioned at all.

It's amazing how he comes from being a name that was mentioned into a full character that has personality beyond the words MC used to describe him.

Speaking of early part of the story, it is quite new to me actually, I didn't know what to expected when I started reading this yesterday night but the intro actually hook me. It was good, then the next development was unexpected but it could be seen that author did not just put ideas one after another but actually made a sequence of event that was put together in place.

Though even after reading this I actually did not get some parts of it. Like what was really their parents job? Isn't MC's father a high ranking soldier? How come in the midsts of the story he was actually a minister? Anyways, all has been well.

Since, I have started talking about MC's father might as well talk about the family dynamics they had. I actually like their dynamics as siblings, it was pretty cute and rare. I mean, there were some story that writes about brothers doting on their sister which is the MC. It was overly unbelievable (not that this story differ) MC and her brother's dynamics is you know the right amount of being protective but at the same time they can tease each other.

Since, we're talking about his brother, let's talk about the punishment. I think one review tackles about how it was unfair and I do agree with it. Every time it happens I feel so bad for the brother and at the same scared what if he comes to hate MC? But I think what was more prominent in those part is how he always accepts it cause he believes he's in fault. I felt bad but that's so precious 🥺

When I think of it, if MC isn't so mature to not let the doting of her family get into her head. They would be actually creating a future narcissist and self-centered despicable human. Especially, with their blatant favoritism that isn't just mentioned once but actually all throughout even near the end. Good thing, even as a child MC's brother was so mature not to be jealous of her but actually takes good care of her🥺 it really melts my heart how they're such a cutie.

Edit:

Spoiler

So going back to my review, there were various part of the story that I would really want to talk about. Like why does it seem that ML had this kind of power to actually affect the world's economy and another country's political feud. Like I felt that it was quite arrogant of the author to actually wrote that part. Also, the reason why MC was kidnapped before she got together with the ML. Idk but when reading it I felt conflict cause even though those guys gamble it all but the reason they ask for more is for their family so I kinda felt bad for them. There's more, I think this part was prominent among this reviews, the "racism" at first it doesn't bother me much cause it wasn't that worst in comparison to other stories I read but one thing that doesn't sit well with me, is that those part contained their nationalism about how their country was great I think I mentioned it already, it's where ML somehow have this power to affect one's country in terms of politics like just how arrogant was that? He's a business man not the King not God.

Anyways, not minding that part this story is quite lingering for me. It's a type of story that I would really want to read the first time all over again. The way how ML expresses his love, he always says 'I love you' first, the way he shows to everyone that he and MC are together. It wasn't so overbearing but actually loving. I mean, unlike other 'CEOs' he wasn't the type to be jealous then proceeds to become overly possessive. It was so cute seeing how almost part of their relationship he was afraid of losing MC. He really loves MC.
Also, MC's brother's antagonisms isn't so overly exaggerated but actually caring. He wasn't just wary of ML being together with MC because of their rivalry but rather he actually cares for his sister 🥺 I don't know but MC's brother really just have a soft spot in my heart. He also deserves happiness. It's so sad that he never got a girlfriend throughout the story. [collapse]

Anyways, I guess that's all of it. I might edit if I remember some part I wanna add. P. S. Sorry for a review that was all over the place haha!

Edit:

I might want to add one thing. I think this is one of the few Chinese novels that I read that actually ended with marriage. I mean, years of reading this type of novels, I've actually been used to having them getting married amidst or in the beginning. Unlike when I first started reading novels back then where stories especially love story ends with marriage as most movies and tv series does. Now, not only was that lingering to me but also nostalgic how things were supposed to be back then. Though, I would prefer it much if there's more extras about their child.

Written by a person who really, really hates women and clearly gets off on imagining Really horrible ways of harming females physically mentally emotionally. Romanticizes domestic violence, abuse and rape. Really gross.
