This story feels like pure torture p*rn. There's no explicit scenes but the things that happen in this story are simply ludicrous. The author must have some sort of fetish for this sh*t because I have no idea why they just tried everything in their power to make An Chujie as miserable as humanly possible. Finished it just from morbid curiosity but I deeply regret it. Do not read this if you're looking for something cute, sweet, or even satisfying. Spoiler
The entire story is just Shang Zhuoxi being this totally evil villain who ruins An Chujie in so many ways and manipulates her at every turn but you're still expected to somehow like or pity her. I can't stand her behavior and how she tries to justify herself. An Chujie doesn't make it any better by falling for her bullsh*t again and again so it's very frustrating to read. And even after everything that happens at the final chapter An Chujie still comes running back to her even after basically ESCAPING THE f*ckING COUNTRY TO ESCAPE HER.
[collapse] This story really embodies the phrase, "misery loves company" and if you're into that be my guest and try this novel out for yourself. But I seriously do not recommend it.
