3/5 I'm almost at the end and I'm dropping this.

So, for me, this is an average read. No, it became an average read as I progressed. It started great, I was curious about Bei Yao's development. But I ran out of patience.

Not so major spoiler, just general stuff, but it's still a spoiler if you've never read any chapters.

So bei yao returns to the past. And decides to live her life differently from before, typical introduction stuff, not that bad. It gets interesting when she forgets her previous memories and writes them down on her notebook. I expected maybe character growth, and that FL would be a tad mature than her peers but that's not the case. Thus rousing my interest.

Then came the latter part of the story.

MAJOR MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD. I recommend for you to read until where I left before reading this. Or if you feel frustrated earlier than me.

Spoiler

This man called Pei Chuan IS SO ANNOYING. Like at first I felt bad, I pitied, and sympathized. But there's a limit to how much and how long a person can sympathize. Man's already went to prison, lied to his lover about 3 (or 4?) major events. Received love and understanding from the lover on every event, BUT CAN'T PROGRESS FROM HIS INSECURITY. NO GROWTH, No shit. And the female lead's patience, caring, doting, and understanding has been going on for 17 years :)))) Man still doubted THE FEMALE LEAD'S intention. He also had friends but none moved him to grow. He keeps assuming and assuming and assuming. He forces his own misunderstanding causing more frustration. He's a shitty f*cking lover. And I never understood Bei Yao's words of "He dots me always" when he drew the line when they were younger, never took the initiative to talk to her, threw everything she gave to him (in her perspective). And was moody most of the time. It's like my eyes are blind from the "doting" he's given. The plot always pushes FL to understand it came from ML. But never pushes ML to get out of his misunderstanding. The more I write, the more I notice something's I didn't notice.

[collapse]

I don't want to be unfair, and I understand that ML has a rough life. But 17 yrs should at least have SOME progress. Tag said character growth when ML was as stagnant as a river.

Also it's 3/5 because writing isn't that bad. It just flopped near the end (for me). That's all :)
