There is only so much sympathy available for an ML that causes his own problems and treats the MC like tr*sh on the outside while loving her secretly. This is the second novel I've tried to read (and didn't finish) where the MC goes back in time/is reborn and decides to selflessly serve a man who was terrible to her the majority of the time and kind to her once, only to constantly have him treat her badly in the new life.
However, the main reason I'm dropping is because of a squick I have: ML is in a situation where he and his 'friends' are playing a game to win a kiss from a girl (not MC), he wins, and the only reason he stops the kiss at the last second is because he sees MC. That is the only reason he stops it, and it was a coincidence that she walked by. I didn't see any reviews mention anything happening between ML and any other female characters, but my sympathy for him evaporated pretty fast with this scene, as well as any assumptions I had that he wouldn't have casual relationships in an attempt to forget MC.
[collapse]I've found that it's less stressful to just move on to a different story when the one I'm currently on is frustrating me more and more with every chapter, so that's what I'm going to do.
