Warning: Scum ML, not comedic, dog blood drama

ML hires people to kidnap MC, hires them again to break his ankle, and was going to break his leg. He forces a restaurant that MC has close ties with to shut down to isolate MC. Then ML forces MC to never leave a room while threatening to shut down the restaurant again if he doesn't eat. MC somehow becomes sick which starts to make him emaciated.

If I didn't know better I would think that I was reading another novel by Shui Qian Cheng (水千丞) aka the author of Additional Inheritance and who apparently likes writing about scum ML.

Anyways in addition to scum ML, this novel has annoying details to further along the plot, like MC not telling ML important things such as I told your brother about our relationship and I work in your brother's company. Even though he knows ML's family life isn't good and is even told to his face that ML's family life isn't good. Another annoying detail is when ML's brother is about to tell their dad stuff about ML that could possibly ruin his life.

ML fakes a marriage with an Omega to save that Omega and ML doesn't need to marry someone for business. ML's dad is a literal defined psychopath and will ruin that Omega and ML's life. ML's bro catches ML cheating on the Omega with MC and is about to tell the dad. Even though ML's bro doesn't know about the dad being a psychopath, why would any normal person tell their parents? They would go to the spouse or mistress first. But all of this a plot point for the dad to get a hint that ML is lying about the marriage.

EDIT: I will say that, ML has redemption arc and probably one of the best overhaul of a redemption I've seen for getting forgiveness from your spouse sort of thing. I wouldn't have forgiven him though.

ML gets MC's house back to show he's sorry, but it kinda seemed like he had it this whole time and he used it as a bargaining chip to tilt the scales of forgiveness to his favor. Then MC starts forgiving ML for a whole lotta stuff in exchange for ML fixing his behavior.

I'm guessing the author wanted to try their hand at writing an accurate psychopath (ML dad) and sociopath (ML). Then try to write how that sociopath learns to correct his behavior. Still would've been nice not to be drop kicked by the story after reading the summary.
