Wow I've read numerous horror novels but its been a while since I've gotten goosebumps from reading one. A genuinely thrilling horror novel with a non- OP but mentally strong female MC? Heck yeah

Brief synopsis

Spoiler

A woman dying of cancer agrees to a ghost marriage for unknown reasons. The novel starts with her going to the house of her future "husband" where she is to spend her last days before she is buried along with her husband. Somehow our MC finds herself tangled in a web of spine chilling mysteries alongside her very dead albeit still good looking husband and an old black phone which won't leave no matter how much she tries.

I recommend not read this at night mind you. I found myself closing my closet door a bunch of times. Regardless, if you're looking for something genuinely scary with a protagonist who is not strong from the start but she grows along the way, look no further.
