It's honestly bizarre how many 1-Star ratings there are for this.I'm giving it a 5, to boost it up, but I'd say it's closer to the 4-4.5 range.It's a very sweet and simple story with small bits of mystery throughout. There is some angsty underpinning, but nothing that would have you bawling your eyes out. As another reviewer put it, it gives a sense of melancholia.The most unnerving element is how much influence the original novel seems to have on the characters. MC broke free, but it seems that even when was making his own decisions in the past, it wasn't completely his own free will. As of CH 33, it hasn't been explained what happened in specific between the MC and ML in their childhood, but it's apparent that it was significant enough that whatever is maintaining the OG!novel thought it prudent to delete/blur whole spans of the MC's memory. It's clear, had the MC kept those memories, he was not likely to have followed the path that he had.On a different note- the translations are very good. I have had no issues in my reading. (:
