I don't like reviewing novels before I finish them, but this might be one of my only exceptions. I have to say that the author of this novel is phenomenal! I've never read any other novel where so much research was done to deliver a coherent and refreshing plot. Most of the other novels usually situate all the settings in China (and sometimes the US) but hardly ever in other countries, but this one goes above and beyond to even research the traditional foods of other countries! In addition, unlike most other novelists who weave their own racist viewpoints into their novels, Qi Jing Nan Qu actually explicitly shows his/her stance to fight against racism by discrediting racism in the story. As of now, I am completely blown away and I hope that my feeling of the novel stays this way!
