City Of Witches Chapter 140 Discussion

The worldbuilding is good and the author does a good job at setting up the witches as these terrifying all-powerful women whom command absolute authority and fear among the rest of the citizens/s*aves. Unfortunately there were little to no relevant non-witch characters after MC becomes a witch as far as I read, and to me that lack of variety made the story squander its potential, especially since it is way easier for me to sympathize with the oppressed than the oppressors living in luxury. Later on, we see that witches themselves have hierarchies and some of them get the short end of the stick, which rectified this issue somewhat. But the author has this way of ruining his characters by introducing weird fetishes into the R18 scenarios. Like this doctor character who was Spoiler

a rare witch with a decent personality, has to r*pe MC in his comatose state to heal him

[collapse]. The only witch character I found interesting was Amelia cause she was suffering from psychological issues, but her plot had these frustrating components to it and involved a romance I didn't enjoy or root for. I didn't have the motivation to continue, but I was told the point I dropped it is where the story actually got good.
