While I enjoyed this novel to a certain degree, there's not much to talk about it. To explain in a few words: all the novelty and excitement revolves around the fact MC transmigrated into a beta cuck. The transmigrator is a Chad, while the "stolen" party members regret their choices, angst ensues. That's about it.In all 30 chapters I read, you can look for world building, intricate mechanics and plot devices, characters, dialogue, etc: it's all bland. The most thrilling parts of this novel revolve around the NTR plot device (it's literally the backbone), and I was about to give up on it until I reached chapter 30, where it picks up some steam. To give an example, the world building is so choppy that MC doesn't bother hiding his name until he figures it out that it's detrimental to him otherwise. Like, if you're going to hide your identity, the least you can do is use an alias. That's not to mention his body and skills, are you seriously telling me that no one in the entire realm can recognize a Hero? This is not an undercover cop, that has to pull a badge to prove his identity (and even then, thugs will suspect an undercover cop merely by his attitude). MC is basically a celebrity. Well, at least the author was realistic in that he was recognized immediately in his home kingdom. Regardless, you get the idea: everything is pretty straightforward. What surprised me even more was that I've seen readers dislike the attention that was given to MC's previous party members... The whole point of the series revolves around the consequences of their actions and schadenfreude. The MC himself just flits from one place to another seemingly randomly. The emotions portrayed on those scenes are the culmination of all the pointless grind of tens of chapters. To sum it up even more, I'd say this novel is shield hero with adult themes and if its MC was a Chad, with a general downgrade.I might change my review after I see future developments, but right now I stand to give it a firm 2.5 rounded up. Only read if you truly find nothing else better or are tired of the typical japanese MC.
