it was explained that the world influences his mind to some extent, and he also takes responsibility to the things he did, I don't know if others will be satisfied with this because as a former hero I would for him to have atleast some resistance to being mind controlled.

the world affects his mind, and his experience as a former hero is not really great, I wouldn't spoil it too much to those that want to read this but the world he got summoned is a dark world, not a usual one where the hero will go on a journey and defeat the demon king easily, it's a full blown war unlike this one where the heroes can still have parties iirc.

the mage girl left the hero because the other hero is better in her eyes, and she wanted recognition From her family, the knight got forced by the b@st@rd hero, and the priest iirc just tagged along the knight because she want to help her, and the reason why I like the knight girl in the former party is because when the MC's past got revealed she's the only one that asked what happened to cloud's soul and actually grieved his death, so yeah, she might have been corrupted if she stayed longer with the other hero but in the first place she did because she want to protect her friend.
