If You Are Being Held Captive by the Demon King, Please Shake a Carrot Chapter 9 Discussion

This is weird.

I felt out of place reading this novel.

It's either that or everything about this novel is out of place. (I didn't read much though.)

I decided to force through the beginning even disregarding the out of place humour or attempts at romance.

But then it started to annoy me.

It was simply too out of place.

Here is a bit of a rant of mine.

The MC is afraid of her. All the reasons we are given for that is that she is strong and the Demon King. That may be enough for the MC, but how about the reader? All she does is give out some forehead flicks. She doesn't kill anyone, does not even hurt anyone badly. We are not even given the reason why the Demon King is bad. Moreover, we are shown only her cute side. While that would be fun and dandy, if not for the simple fact, mc's behaviour. As I said, he's afraid, also, he wants to kill her. It's written as if the author couldn't choose a side. He didn't know whether to write dark fantasy or isekai comedy.

He had so many chances to put it on a straight line, but he chooses to wobble it around. Dark, light, comedy, drama, begging for his life, wow she's so cute.

The amount of moments that pissed me off is too much for just 9 chapters.
