So, at Barnes & Noble they were having a deal (might still be having it) where you pick up to Viz media manga & get a third one for free. I had picked up two Monster volumes (1 & 2) but both cost $20 a piece so when the cashier told me about the deal, I ran back & picked up the first volume of Keaton, also $20. It was a good value & I already know I like Master Keaton because I was a fan of the anime. It was a great Urasawa package.
So, I figured today I'd start reading it & wow, the anime adapted this chapter pretty much straight. I don't remember the scene where Keaton told that guy that those guys in the picture were hiding guns between their shirts & left arm-pit in the anime but that could just be faulty memory. Admittedly, this wasn't that interesting of a chapter nor a really good start on the series. It's not terrible but it's hard to feel any motivation to continue reading as this left me with a resounding meh. It was the same case in the anime though.
Hoping the anime cherry-picked with the anime or at least chose chapters to adapt in an anachronistic (not that continuity is huge here) because I'd like to read a new case or perhaps some of the better later cases in this volume.
