Hello everyone! This is a must read! For those who are in doubt and have misgivings, hesitant and so on due to previous reviews, the quality of translation and etc... give a try till the end!Magical Girl Tyrant Sylph is a story of struggle, love, bonds, understanding oneself and moving forward. Now for detailed explanation for my stance. The story isn't haphazard. It's planned from beginning to the end. This is something you'll understand once you re-read it. It's actually part of the fun I derived to spot those foreshadowing. And it really gave me a thrill ride whenever my guess during my first read-through was right or when I am taken by surprise. Trying to confirm it all over again in my second reading was also fun!And that's why I can say for certain the while the pacing is somewhat fast, that the author could've done a bit more, the overall pacing is perfect. Maybe if Magical Girl Tyrant Sylph would have an Light Novel/Manga adaptation, it'll be refined; however, that's just my own opinion and little wish. The author doesn't drag the drama too much. While there are misunderstandings, they're just a side-dish. Something to be enjoyed and often resolved cleanly. Except for a few parts... which isn't much of a big deal on the grand scheme of the story.Unto the characters. Many reviews prior to mine that only covered around Chapter/Arc 1 to 2 says the MC is pathetic. This is true. But there's a good reason behind the MC's personality and directly tied to his past and the overall story. That's why I hope people will read till the end so it'll make sense. At the same time, while the MC is indeed pathetic... all of it is very human-like and it resonate with me deeply. It's not the kind of flaw that's there just to present a character flaw but deeply explored and a source of MC's struggle. That's why it's so refreshing whenever the MC makes a step forward to a better direction with each Chapter/Arc.That's another reason why I fell in love with Magical Girl Tyrant Sylph as a story.Another thing is that the author truly explored the psychological side of TS/Gender Bender stories. It's rather rare for me to actually find a web novel (here) that actually does that. It's refreshing to see the conflict born from the MC's struggles of his— her new form as Tyrant Sylph as other magical girls become interested in her. It's not just a convenient excuse for the Yuri/Baihe/Girls Love aspect of the story. If anything, despite his character flaws, the MC is a very upright person. Moving on to our Female Lead, Heroine and Deuteragonist/Second MC of the story. I won't say who she is specifically since I thoroughly want anyone who picked up this story to enjoy it without spoiling too much. But, she's the complete opposite of our MC. And while she is indeed pushy, it's the kind necessary to get through the the walls surrounding the MC's heart.Think of it as the peppy friendly extrovert (female lead) reaching out to the antisocial with hidden depths introvert (MC).And while she's seems like a foil for the MC, it's more of she's the necessary impetus for the MC to start moving forward because of her momentum. The MC's mental and emotional condition is just THAT bad.... regardless of how that's not case at first. While's she's the epitome pure and nice girl, the Female Lead does have a good head on her shoulders. More of the emotional type that relies on her intuition (not overly forceful mind you) but still thinks things through. To the other characters! Each one plays a significant role. While not everyone is fully fleshed out (reason I said it felt like the author could still do something more if this story gets an LN/Manga adaptation), they aren't two-dimensional either. I'll also like to emphasize they aren't just simply there as plot devices. Rather, because of their personalities that made things interesting.Lastly. About the translation quality. I assume that it's an MTL translation but polished. It can be seen in the awkward phrasing, misused pronounces, and grammar. However, unlike full MTL translation, it's still passable and as long as you read with a bit of patience. The main ideas of each paragraphs are still conveyed correctly. Well... there are parts I had to stop and made sure I got it correct. But, it's something bearable than a couple translation abominations I've encountered.Overall... while the story has flaws, it's still a 5 star story in my heart.PS: If you searched Magical Girl Tyrant Sylph on google for images, you'll find illustrations for each Chapter/Arc.
