This novel should be a small fry in the midst of all the giant like danmei out there. A good novel undoubtedly have interesting characters, novel settings, and moving plot. This novel has interesting characters and proper plots but the settings are all over the place, lol. I'm most dissatisfied with the fact that MC had a mysterious power and even more mysterious ancestry but it was ultimately wasted. It was such a good plot point that could have driven the story to other places but the author is obviously unwilling or maybe incapable of bringing the story there.However, it wasn't an unforgivable sin. I felt that the MC unleashed all his pent up spoiled-ness in his previous life at this life where there's ML who would cover the sky for him. I personally feel this novel is very sweet. This novel might feel boring for people who looks for revenge and intense calculations and intriguing politics. But for a romance novel, it's certainly not a bad read. The MC is lovely, ML is pampering, cannon fodder was solved cleanly and efficiently, supporting and funny friends and loving family. It's very good for a light read.I think MC was very reasonable. The last life forced him to brave through most bitter days but at the heart, he was ultimately a pampered teenaged son of a wealthy household. Sometimes, identity penetrates deep into the marrow no sort of change and environment can change them. And MC was the case. Indeed, the last life he braved through difficult life for some tens of years, he most certainly were bitter and full of regrets. After rebirth, he realized his shortcomings, tried to rectify it and at the same time unleashed all his need for pampering that he supressed during his previous life and that's normal. I think it does makes him lovely from a bystander point of view.
