Rating: 3.8I didn’t enjoy it as much as I perhaps I thought I would? We have our old fashioned very mature, rigorous, slightly OCD cold ML and humorous, laidback, chill hooligan artist MC. It’s a lovely pairing, and seeing them work out their kinks during the fake relationship naturally (with a lot of ML unknowingly doting) was quite a slice-of-life experience. My only qualm is I feel like things were never really fleshed out. The conflict between the stalker and MC felt very one dimensional, and so did the conflicts with MC and his family. While the author does add some complexity so the characters aren’t fully villainous, it still feels they just approached the beginning of making their characters dimensional without ever finishing it.I would also say the same thing with the MC’s and ML’s romance. It may be because I MTL-ed this, but the “blooming of love” between the two felt very vague. They gradually progress to a point where they realize they like each other, but what spurred that liking feels like something I can’t grasp. While I love their relationship dynamic, why did the ML fall in love with MC? There may be answers, but it feels like answers I can’t really answer in depth.Man, also with how good the MC is as an artist, I wish they focused more on the development of his career or his career itself, just like how the story’s plots revolved so much around the ML’s job.Otherwise, while the events leading up to the romance and conflicts feel intangible, the events themselves were enjoyable. Seeing the ML and MC interact warmed my heart, and seeing how the MC brought the right amount of disorder into the ML’s life, and the ML brought the right amount of order to the MC’s life. The side couple, while not fully discussed (do they have a separate book?), and considering my dislike for side couples, were enjoyable when little tid bits of their life came occasionally.Overall, this book revolves around finding family in the most unlikely place, and how the standards of family may differ for each partner in the relationship, and that’s what makes the relationship perfect. It is a lovely light slice-of-life read you don’t need to think much about.
