The Idol Group and the Crown Chapter 26 part1 Discussion

I feel like the slice of life genre could be added to it. Also, please pay attention to the psychological tag. It's not sunshine and rainbows here, haha.

I think the characters are interesting, but the MC is currently... taking a long time to develop. 26 long chapters and we're starting to get somewhere. I don't mind that much, but the point is.... there aren't really highlights? Exciting moments? Like, everything has the same steady, gray feeling. Serenity/calmness is great, but too much of a good thing... If this was slice of life, it'd be suitable. I get that that the author is probably setting the novel up, but 26 chapters of build up without a big moment is kinda... dull. I'm guessing it becomes a great novel eventually, but I feel like the pacing could've been a bit better near the beginning. The novel is quite slow and feels like it lacks life at the start.

Something like this could've been more interesting if the MC's personality wasn't the cold / robotic type (not a bad personality to have, but it makes the slow development feel even slower). He's also a bit of a Gary Stu (The only reason he isn't OP is due to his circumstances / lack of experience) since he can pretty much do everything he wants to learn so far. Not very exciting if you know he's going to succeed in training each time due to his perfect learning skills. Got a bit repetitive, but I'm guessing that'll change after he debuts.

The side characters are interesting, but I feel like we haven't seen enough of them yet. The ML is barely there, so it's a slow burn for sure. Maybe the novel will get more exciting with romance later?

I might come back to this novel later, but I currently don't want to dedicate this much time reading while waiting for a payoff. Maybe I went into the novel with too high expectations due to the high rating...
