The Villainess That Was Once A VRMMO Player Chapter Completed Discussion

While I found this story enjoyable because of how far into black comedy it leans, Contrasted against The Devil Princess and Heroine Survival, the story of Carol Nym is dragged down by the pacifism of its protagonist in an extremely hostile world. Framed as an imperfect mirror of a VRMMO World, Carol finds herself isekai'd into the MMO's backstory romance game as the buttmonkey character who through no actions of the protagonist will die at every turn or at best become a s*x s*ave. To compensate, Carol is a near omnipotent protagonist so overqualified that she obliterates her prey when going all out.

Do I think it worked out into a decent story? With a 3 star rating I disagree, but I will admit the worldbuilding, while heavily fragmented for what we receive, is quite interesting, and among all other factors, Flare is the best character.

I honestly dont know if I want to write a long spoiler to explain the greatness that an unabashedly Lawful Evil princess is to read, leave a summary of one of her actions as an example, tell you everything to enjoy the "For the Evulz", or let you experience her organically by reading this story on your own, as Flare is that Enjoyable.

if This story was exclusively the material of chapters 89-91, it would absolutely earn a 4.5 star rating. But its not, you have to read chapter upon chapter of Carol either passively living a life with her personal attendants while the plot doesnt move, living a chill adventurer life, or finally getting around to the final act.

Others have suggested reading Apotheosis of a Demon against this: I disagree. Apotheosis is a straight drama following a Mary Sue, and although the first act is good, the story is bad. The translation for it is superior, but Sheddy is a flat protagonist with no deuteragonists and only a single non-face-deficient antagonist who is a minor side character.

Carol might be a poor protagonist, but this story is built on its black comedy.
