Promising so far, to early to tell how it will continue so leaving it at 4 star, might change this later though could forget. It's good so far but not at the same tier as Reverend insanity only web novel I liked enough to consider 5 star, other 5 stars would be the Dresden novels, Malazan book of the fallen series, Eat man manga (Old, but I still really like it, just hit right for me) As of now it's too early to tell how it will fair but currently would consider it around these:Demonic emperor (slightly worse than RI but still really good, like 4, 5 star) Renegade Immortal (slow, but I really liked it, 4-4, 5 star) Hail the King early parts (MC got strong too quickly near the later parts, didn't really feel earned) I became the tyrant of a defence game (same translator, Quite nice so far) (I like sneaky characters as might be seen from the above examples so could be a bit biased...) Could be great will have to see how it continues but it has potential at least. No story spoilers below other than the premise.Written as of chapter 20!Main theme: +Transported/reincarnated into a game (subset of isekai) +Game system with skills and stats for powerups+Hidden pieces/secrets tied to powerups gained from prior knowledge (MC played the game for years thus can be expected to know a lot of secrets so it's not unexpected) Plot: MC need to avoid too much interaction with the games maincast of characters to not weaken them to much nor disrupt the story's intended flow.thus they are limited to the sideline npcs for recruiting allies though it already goes against this a bit, not to the point of full out taking main characters for his own team but interact more with them than the premise first suggested.Instead of following the games intended story their goal is instead the hidden boss (maybe mastermind types of foe?, that planned everything while a figurehead takes the place publicly as the story bosses) while leaving the story boss to the maincast, at most giving hints but keeping some distance. It avoids the common point that everyone loves the MC right from the start regardless of how well known they are that most stories seem to like instead the characters has traits that causes npcs to avoid them: offputting aura, slit eyes (think gin from Bleach), menacing/rude speak pattern. So far it has avoided the trope of everyone singing their praises but for how long this keeps up will be interesting to see or if they fall into the usual route of people liking them from their deeds (Helping people, rumors spreads of them defeating bad guys etc) thus ignoring the initial premise of a disliked character due to traits -> Discrimination, personally would like to see them stay as a background character rather than be loved by all in the end, would be refreshing for it to not follow the norm.Starting point leaves them quite weak with low stats and no op skills, powerups are mainly from hidden pieces rather than numerical stats and gambling for skills with stat points, This system could be ab*sed by author to just give powers whenever without proper buildup but so far hasn't, only time will tell if they can keep it this way, (to me it's more fun if things are at least foreshadowed, giving uses to something that seemed of no value rather than just "here have the exact solution to your problems out of nowhere") Only 20 chapter are available as of this review so can't say much more to quality, it's fun so far just hope it keeps the quality going forward.
