Funny and cute romcom with a husky ceo ml/gong x icy calm teacher mc/shou. Side characters from ml’s family & secretary to mc’s friends and students are all hilarious and lively. Mc’s backstory with his teacher/adopted father teacher Lao is very sad and reflective of the pains of homosexuality in restrictive societies. Read the extras for more knives and a short but deserved happiest ending for teacher Lao.Everything, even the sad bits, are written in a lovely lighthearted style that enhances the novel, props to the author. All side characters are wonderful, with their own personalities, quirks, and motivations. There’s no real bad guys to solve, just people living lives in a society where h*mophobia is present.Thanks to the author for presenting the gay characters as gay, not the terrible trope of I’m only gay for you. Special mention: Mother of ML reveals how ML had quite a questioning phase with his love life where he crushed on a trans?/crossdresser? And then a butch lesbian that made him and his family all question if he was gay or something else. Whatever he was, they basically just hoped he would find someone lol.
