This is a must read! It won't bore you like some of these novels with drawn out plots or fast paced romance. Everything was at the right time. Even the characters, their complexity is astonishing and rare among these 'shuang' novels. Sure, there are still some characters that might seem 1D but I'd say that's just how people are. The romance was just right if you aren't reading it as just a quick flick/just for the romance.

Spoiler

I really like Liu Wenkang and Ye Ming. I really like Liu Wenkang's gentleness and how he's there for Zhao Zhao at the right times. I think there are still some mysteries about him that will probably be answered later or I'm just thinking too much into it.

And Ye Ming. Zhao Zhao dislikes him because he was born with things he could only wish for, like a family. He's quite cold to him but Ye Ming hasn't changed his attitude and don't know if it's because he knows about the yuandan thing and feels guilty or is a hypocrite. We don't really get an insight in Ye Ming at all, most likely so the ch 97 special isn't found out earlier. With how Huaibei treated him after he transformed back to human, I think he might've been in the know about the plan. So, if I'm right I'm hoping for a friendship developing with Zhao Zhao.

Spoiler

Don't read this. I'm embarassed. It's just a small vent so. (Why am I writing out Zhao Zhao's nickname everytime even though it's so long? I like him. I like his character. I like his development, I like who he was at the start of the story, I like who he is now as well. Growing up I never saw any MC's with such negative emotions like jealousy, pettiness and vainness, even though they're emotions as common as the stars and there is not a single person or might I say animal thats has never experienced these emotions more multiple times. It was always villainized and never explored properly. As a kid, I would always feel like I was strange, out of place and definitely an alien. This novel has scratched the itch for that feeling of being understood/understanding. Others might not feel like this novel isn't that deep or didn't make them feel the same way. That's because we're different people with different lifes and experiences. This was a mini vent but I just wanted it out there, for me and for those who feel a similar way.
