A lot of people give this novel a bad review because of the MC's mindset, denseness, and supposed low IQ. But in my opinion, the novel gives the impression of an MC who could understand if they really wanted to but enjoys playing around much more. Though this is never explicitly stated, if you really look at it the MC doesn't really take anything seriously, especially her identity as a 'pet'. It really feels like she's just playing a game where she pretends to be a pet because it's the most fun and interesting thing to do. If anything more interesting ever came around I have the distinct impression the MC would wander off. ... Basically the MC is not just a fairy in body but also in mind. It has little to do with intelligence.
