i will quickly say why:

1. It doesn’t rush the plot.

Events don’t happen one after another. Sometimes in other novels it feels like things just keep happening to the main character, while in this after the initial premise everything is rational and makes sense. It reminds me of Lord of the Mysteries in that sense.

2. Relationships feel sincere. Sometimes novels make it feel like characters are just plot devices. In this novel they feel organic, and the MC has to try to use what he can to motivate his people, to make them play their part. The process is very entertaining

3. Characters are intelligent. Friend or foe, you can understand why they act the way they do. MC couldn’t change it easily, it was only because he discovered the shelter that he had a chance.
